For years, the Minnesota legislature has quietly rubber-stamped abortion funding by passing the massive Health and Human Services (HHS) omnibus budget bill every two years — dumping millions into the “Medical Assistance” program that’s used to pay for abortions.
And while Planned Parenthood lines their pockets, thousands of babies are killed in our state every year — with money taken straight from pro-life taxpayers.
Worse, for years both Republicans and Democrats have gone along with it.
Some try to hide behind the Doe v. Gomez ruling from the 1990s, claiming the courts “force” them to fund abortions.
But that lie just collapsed.
In the Medina case, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled loud and clear:
States have the right to defund Planned Parenthood and stop taxpayer-funded abortions.
That means no more excuses.
The legislature — not the courts — controls the purse strings. And not one penny more should go to the abortion industry.
